"The matrimonial covenant, by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life, is by its nature ordered toward the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring; this covenant between baptized persons has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament." (Catechism of the Catholic Church, #1601)

To arrange for the celebration of the sacrament of Holy Matrimony in our parish, contact a priest or Mrs. Sharon Patek at least six (6) months in advance of proposed wedding date. A bride and groom must prove they are free to marry without impediments before a wedding date can be finalized.

Marriage preparation requires at least 6 months to complete. If marriage preparation is done here at SSCM a $125 fee will be assessed. If a couple is currently living outside of the local area, marriage preparation should be done at their nearest parish.
